In May 2017, John and Deb purchased the building and gave it a fresh start as Mel’s Roadhouse. From day one, their goal was to offer a clean, casual setting where people working and living in the area could relax. The name reflects a welcoming spot for friends, families, and neighbors to gather.
Our Roots in Athens, Ohio
Mel’s Roadhouse is located just 2 miles outside Athens on state route 550, in a building that has been part of the community for over 50 years. It has always been a place for locals to enjoy good food and drinks away from the busy college town scene. This long history inspired us to keep the tradition alive while adding our own touch.
